New mentor session: Danielle Gjestland

Posted by Ivana Rnjak on Oct 25, 2017 9:19:15 AM

In addition to our courses, we also publish mentor sessions that take you backstage with industry leaders. This week, we are excited to share Danielle Gjestland's story.

Danielle is the founder and co-owner of the acclaimed Noosa Sound restaurant Wasabi. For four years running, the Good Food Guide has awarded two chef hats to Wasabi, while The Australian named it the Best Regional Restaurant in 2017. And then there's the long list of accolades the restaurant has collected since opening its doors 14 years ago.

In her mentor session, Danielle shares how her love for Japanese food and culture inspired her to open the first Japanese restaurant in her hometown.

Since Wasabi opened its doors, Danielle has gone on to manage a farm that supplies the restaurant with locally grown, seasonal ingredients. Most recently, she launched The Cooking School Noosa, offering intimate cooking classes with the Wasabi team and visiting chefs.

By investing in her team and not shying away from a challenge, Danielle has turned her passion into a successful business venture!
