What’s new on Typsy: Table service 101 and an edgier look
This week we launched our table service 101 course with Kate Edwards. We also released a live talk from Yossi Ghinsberg – catch it before the movie on his life!
Before we jump into our usual round of updates, we have some exciting news. There are big changes coming at Typsy in the next few months. We're completely changing the look and feel of our website, because we want to make it even easier for hospitality professionals to follow their passions and learn new skills.
In the lead-up to the grand unveiling, we'll be sharing previews of the design changes and new features right here on the blog. Are you ready for the first one? Keep reading!
Thanks for reporting a problem. We'll attach technical data about this session to help us figure out the issue. Which of these best describes the problem?
This week we released a course with Typsy regular Kate Edwards on the fundamentals of restaurant service.
Often when you start a new job in a restaurant, you’re expected to pick up the smaller details as you go, like why you should serve guests in a certain order, or what the heck it means when another waiter shouts “chaud, chaud, chaud!” The videos in this course explain these conventions so you can feel more confident in your role.
Kate's tips are also fantastic for more experienced servers who want to take their service to another level!
Live Talk
Yossi Ghinsberg at Typsy Live 2016
Sadly, we’ve reached the last of our Typsy Live talks – but don’t worry, this one’s a big one.
Yossi Ghinsberg shares an intimate story about his life-changing experience in the Amazon, and how it forever altered his approach to business. If you own your own restaurant (or you plan on doing so one day), it will definitely make you reconsider your mindset.
In fact, Yossi’s story is so compelling it’s about to be released as a film starring Daniel Radcliffe. Before it comes out, hear the whole incredible story in his words.
News
One thing that was really important to us with our new website was that it speak to young people, who make up the majority of the hospitality industry. That's why our design’s going in an edgier direction.
Here’s a sneak peek at the icons that will appear all over the new site. They're a little bit fun and a little bit quirky.
This week on Typsy, we consider how to handle customer food allergies. We also have an exciting announcement – we're launching a brand new website!
